Wisdom Through Walking

How powerful is the simple act of walking? Putting one foot in front of the other, at the pace of your choice, is the number one way to start on a path toward greater health.

The most rewarding benefit of a walk is that it provides you with spinal balance, helping to coordinate all the functioning of the human body. The pursuit of spinal balance also happens to be at the core of chiropractic philosophy. Other ways that walking helps you find health:

  • Improving circulation: gets your blood moving, which cycles oxygen and nutrients to the vital parts of your body.
  • Improving range of motion: making you more flexible and preventing injury.
  • Reducing pain: by releasing endorphins and promoting movement of the spinal joints, a walk helps to free the pressure that accumulates after long days of stagnation.

When faced with the choice between sitting down for TV after dinner and going for a digestive walk, the odds are often weighted to the advantage of the former. Usually through force of habit, we allow ourselves to be lazy; at Associates in Chiropractic, we focus on changing this attitude. By instilling you with a penchant for walking and its wonderful healing properties, we believe we can get you to add 30 minutes of walking into your daily routine.
