It is a diverse tool that speeds up the process of soft tissue healing by creating heat deep in the affected area. The high-frequency sound waves (in excess of the human hearing range) cause vibration of tissues in the affected area resulting in heat production, as deep as 5 inches below the skin. Blood flow increases, bringing crucial nutrients and oxygen to the healing process. This vibration also stimulates the production of collagen, the main protein that is responsible for the strength of tissue.
