4 Weight Training Tips

When it comes to hitting the weights, it’s important to work out with safety and precision.

Below are a few things to keep in mind when training with weights. Associates in Chiropractic Family Health & Wellness Center is committed to providing education that will help our patients avoid pain and injury.

1.) Don’t Overload the Weight

Don’t lift for heaviness. Instead, lift for form. If you can get a workout in using your own body weight, this is ideal for your back and joints. Working with lighter weight and higher reps will help you avoid injury.

2.) Warm Up

Don’t overlook your warm-up routine, which is meant to help your body get loose and your muscles and joints become more pliable.

3.) Hydrate

Make sure you drink half your body weight in ounces. You’ll end up sweating a lot if you’re working out in a stuffy gym, so make sure you hydrate!

4.) Look for Balance

Stop skipping leg day. Make sure you also work in your cardio and make sure to engage your core. Often, the least fun lifts and muscles to work end up being the most beneficial.
